Scientific Degree Apprenticeship
As a nuclear Scientist, you will be working at the forefront of the nuclear research and development programme that makes NNL one of the world leaders in nuclear energy.For the Scientific Apprenticeship you will follow the Laboratory Technician Standard at Level 3. On completion of this standard, they will enrol you onto the Nuclear Scientist apprenticeship standard at level 6 to complete your Chemistry Degree.
Qualifications
You should have attained5 GCSE’s A-C (New Grading 9-4) including Maths and English. You will be on track to achieve or have attained A-Levels at a Pass mark minimum (one of which must be Chemistry) or a BTEC in Chemistry at a Pass grade.
Engineering Design Degree Apprenticeship
Engineering Designers not only deliver optimum engineering performance across sites, but are also responsible for developing some of the most pioneering, globally adopted nuclear development programmes. In Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) you’ll be trained in all aspects of design and follow an Apprenticeship route, tailored to your design discipline.
For the Engineering Design Apprenticeship you will follow the Nuclear Technician Standard at Level 5. On completion of this standard, subject to performance, we will enrol you onto the Nuclear Engineer apprenticeship standard at level 6 to complete your Engineering Degree.
