Leonardo is a world leader in helicopter manufacture, based in Yeovil, Somerset. They have opportunities in their electronics, defence and security systems area as well as in the Helicopter division. They offer degree apprenticeships in:

• software engineering – 4 years in in Edinburgh.You will study for completion of a BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering on a day release basis whilst working.
• mechanical engineering – 5 year programme. You will study for a Degree (BEng) in Aeronautical Engineering.
• Electrical engineering – 5 year programme.You will study for a Degree (BEng) in Aeronautical Engineering.
• Design Engineering – 4 years in Edinburgh.You will study at the University of Strathclyde for completion of a BEng (Hons) in Engineering: Design & Manufacture through a mixture of work based learning, distance learning and day release at University.

Entry Requirements

Applicants to the ‘Degree’ apprenticeship programme will need:

• Academic qualifications of 96 (240 pre 2017) UCAS points or above at A-Level standard or equivalent, to include Maths plus at least one further STEM-based subject such as Physics, ICT, Computing, Electronics.
• A GCSE grade B/5 in Mathematics, plus four GCSEs at Grade A-C including English Language and Double Science or equivalent qualification.
