FCO – Higher & Degree Apprenticeships
FCO is an organisation of immense capability. From counter eavesdropping and sophisticated cloud solutions, to secure logistics and even building entire embassies, their work protects information, national interests and people worldwide. Their customers include the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and other organisations and governments who face ever-changing security challenges.
They have opportunities across the following programmes:
- Project Management -level 6 and level 4
On this two or four -year programme (depending on level), you’ll learn how to deliver some of the most complex IT projects around. You’ll get to work alongside and learn from, experienced project managers and even head up smaller projects of your own. And all while studying towards a Level 4 or 6 Associate Project Manager or IPMA Level D qualification. To start with, you’ll need an A Level (or equivalent) worth at least 24 or 96 UCAS points, plus five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths, English and a technology subject.
- IT -level 4
This Apprenticeship in IT is an 18-month programme that will give you a detailed understanding of the technological threats governments face, and the skills you’ll need to overcome them. To apply you need a passion for IT and computing, at least five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above, and an A Level (or equivalent) in a STEM subject,
- Security Design Engineering
On this four-year course, you’ll learn how to design the advanced security systems that protect customers’ buildings and structures, both in the UK and overseas. Along the way, you’ll study for a BEng or a BSc in Engineering, fully-funded. To apply, you need to have a keen interest in technology and design, plus at least five GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or above including Maths, English and a Physics-based subject, plus A Levels (or equivalent) worth 128 UCAS points, including Maths and Physics.
- Building Services Engineering
If you’ve got a keen interest in design and construction, plus A Levels (or equivalent) worth at least 128 UCAS points and five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above including Maths, English and a Physics-based subject, this is where you can use them to help keep the nation safe. As well as supporting your studies towards a BEng or BSc in Building Services Engineering, this four-year course will give you lots of practical experience , working on critical projects both in the UK and overseas.
