
Renishaw- Degree Apprenticeships
Renishaw is a global company with core skills in measurement, motion control, spectroscopy and precision machining. They develop innovative products that significantly advance customers’ operational performance – from improving manufacturing efficiencies and raising product quality, to maximising research capabilities and improving the efficacy of medical procedures.
They offer both software and engineering apprenticeships, which are generally 4 years in length. You will generally be part of a number of placements. The apprenticeship allows you to continue learning and acquiring qualifications.
Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship
This structured Degree Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to study for a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering whilst working one work placements.
Entry requirements:
- Either three A-Levels at BBB, including Maths (at grade B or higher), one other science subject and one other STEM subject,
- OR a Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship at Distinction level.
Manufacturing Engineering Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship
This structured Degree Apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to study for a BEng (Hons) degree in Manufacturing Engineering whilst working work placements.
Entry Requirements:
• Three A-Levels at BBB, or the equivalent of 120 UCAS points, including Maths (at grade B or higher), one other science subject and one other STEM subject,
• OR a Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship at Distinction level.
Embedded Electronic Engineering degree apprenticeships
This structured Degree Apprenticeship will give successful candidates the opportunity to study for a degree whilst working on exciting and challenging work placements.
You will study towards a BEng in Electronic and Computer Engineering, accredited by the University of the West of England (UWE), with two days a week being spent studying for the first year, thereafter on a day release scheme.
Entry requirements
- Three A levels which must include Maths, and can include two of the following subjects: Computing/Computer Science; Design and Technology; Electronics; Engineering; ICT; Further Maths.
- Applicants must have the minimum of 120 UCAS points (in the new tariff system) which equates to BBB. Applicants must have at least a C in Maths, although a B is preferred. Please provide predicted grades if you are still studying.
Software engineering degree apprenticeships
You will study towards a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions via blended learning with the University of Exeter. The University of Exeter programme is a four-year course delivered through a blended learning model
Entry Requirements
- Either three A levels at AAB, with at least one in either Maths or Physics, and a second in a Computer Science related subject;
- OR a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at DDD, in a Computer Science related subject.
