Dyson – Engineering Degree
Dyson offer an engineering degree at the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology. As an Undergraduate Engineer, you work alongside their Global Engineering team from day one. You are responsible for live projects, all while studying for your engineering degree from Warwick Manufacturing Group, the University of Warwick.
The course is four years long. The first two years will give you a strong foundation in engineering theory and practice before you specialise in years three and four. The engineering fundamentals that you learn in your studies will be put to practice through your role within Dyson’s Global Engineering team.
The degree has been developed by Dyson engineers alongside academics at Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), the University of Warwick. WMG have a long-standing reputation for bridging the gap between industry and academia through their strong links with global engineering companies. As a first year Undergraduate Engineer you will live on-site in modern accommodation pods. The campus is within easy driving distance of Bristol, Bath and Gloucester.
Your tuition fees will be paid by Dyson, and you will earn a salary from the start, meaning you could graduate debt-free.
The role
At the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology, you’re an engineer from day one. You’ll learn about engineering through hands-on experience and work alongside a team of Dyson technology experts three days of the week. With Dyson’s expertise across motors, fluid dynamics, separation systems, energy storage, robotics, software and hair science, you’ll have the chance to work within a number of technical disciplines.
In your first year, you’ll complete three engineering rotations, focusing on mechanical, electronics hardware, and software. There are three more rotations in your second year, in different teams. This will help to consolidate your understanding of engineering fundamentals in practice.
For your final two years, they will give you the opportunity to state your preferred pathway. Dyson will place you in a team depending on your preferences, skills and the business need.
Entry requirements.
- They are also looking for people who are passionate about engineering and technology, a creative problem solver, an excellent team-player and a great communicator.
- Dyson is a high-pressure environment, so they are looking for engineers with dedication and huge potential. You will need at least AAB at A Level or equivalent, including an A grade in both Mathematics and at least one other Science, Technology or Engineering-related subject.
