AWE. They play a crucial role in national defence, and are a centre of scientific and technological excellence, with some of the most advanced research, design and production facilities in the world. They offer a host of different apprenticeships in science, engineering and business. In terms of level 6, they offer:

• Nuclear Engineering – level 6 – you will work towards a Bachelors (Honours) degree qualification (at level 6), accredited by the constituent bodies of the Engineering / Science Council
• Manufacturing Engineering – level 6
• Civil Engineering degree-  level 6
• Ordinance Munitions and explosive Degree – level 6

They are all 4 years in length.

Entry requirements for level 6 schemes

• Typically grade C or above in at least five GCSE’s including English, Maths and a Science subject
• Typically candidates will hold a minimum of 240 UCAS points or existing relevant Level 3 qualifications
